Dry for most Hazy, often cloudy seiten=4 abk=focus

Thursday
High pressure situated across Britain and Ireland brings a dry day to most areas, with light winds. Areas of low cloud, mist and fog early in the morning will slowly break. A little sunshine developing, best across western regions of England and Wales, also Ireland and southern Scotland, although it will stay very hazy. Thickening cloud across north-western Scotland brings drizzly rain, turning more persistent here through the day. Eastern England may remain plagued by low cloud, which may be thick enough for a little drizzle, and will keep temperatures rather cool, highs only 7C here. Elsewhere, after a chilly start, temperatures rising toward 10 to 12C by afternoon.

Thursday night
Patchy rain and drizzle affects northern Scotland during Thursday evening, but largely fizzling out during the night. Elsewhere it is likely to stay dry. Cloud advancing from the north should prevent a frost for Scotland, Northern Ireland and far north of England, lows around 3 to 5C here. Where skies remain fairly clear for the Midlands and south of Britain and Ireland, overnight lows will dip toward 0 to 2C, locally just below freezing in rural parts. Some fog patches may develop in low lying central and southern areas.

Friday
High pressure positioned to the west of the British Isles, allowing weak fronts to push south across the country. This will bring a large amount of cloud, although breaks may develop from the north. Most places dry, but a spot of light rain or drizzle is possible across the hills of northern Britain, and near some eastern coasts. Some sunshine toward the far south, although still hazy. Clearer air developing from the north. Light north-westerly winds, but feeling cool in the breeze in northern areas. Temperatures reaching 12 or 13C in the south, whilst it will be cooler in the north and beneath the cloud, nearer 8 or 9C.

Saturday
High pressure centred to the west of Ireland influences most of the British Isles. South-eastern areas will see a cool north to north-easterly breeze. Lighter winds further west and across Scotland. Dry for most, with sunshine breaking through, most widely across northern and western regions. Some early fog for Ireland, breaking into sunshine. Central and eastern England likely to drag in more cloud off the North Sea, perhaps enough for a spot of drizzle in the south-east, and making it feel rather cool at near 7 or 8C. Elsewhere in sunshine, highs nearer 11 or 12C.
