Variable cloud Dry for most this weekend seiten=4 abk=focus
Friday
High pressure will be to south-west and low pressure to the north-east of the British Isles. A weak front moves south across the country, bringing a large amount of cloud to northern Britain. Most areas dry, but locally a spot of light rain for Scotland and northern England. Early morning low cloud and mist will be most persistent toward the south-east of England, thinning slowly through the day. Broken cloud and occasional sunshine for the Midlands, Wales and south-west, probably giving the best chance of viewing the partial solar eclipse. Remaining very hazy, although clearer air may spread slowly from the north. Light north-westerly winds, but feeling cool in the breeze in the north. Temperatures reaching 12 or 13C in the south, nearer 8 or 9C in northern areas.
Friday night
Staying dry almost everywhere. Any patchy drizzly rain across northern Scotland or eastern England should amount to very little. Light winds for most. Cloudy skies for many eastern regions, preventing a frost here. Where cloud is more broken toward the west, temperatures may fall close to freezing. Overnight lows between 0 and 4C.
Saturday
High pressure centred to the west of Ireland influences most of the British Isles. East and south-eastern coasts of England will see a cool north to north-easterly breeze, dragging in a lot of low cloud from the North Sea, perhaps enough for patchy drizzle. Cloud may spread further across southern England during the day. Lighter winds further west and across Scotland. Dry for northern and western regions, with sunshine breaking through. Some early fog for Ireland, breaking into sunshine. Less hazy than previous days for many. Feeling cool under the cloud in the east at just 7 or 8C. Elsewhere in the sun, highs nearer 11 or 12C.
Sunday
A dry day for many as high pressure extends across southern Britain and Ireland. Fronts pass across the far north of Scotland, brings thicker cloud to north-western Britain and Ireland. Patchy rain for the north of Scotland, accompanied by a westerly breeze. Spits and spots moving a little further south across Scotland later. A good amount of sunshine for England, Wales and southern Ireland. The far south-east may keep a cool easterly breeze and more cloud. Feeling pleasant in light winds. A slight frost is possible to start the morning. Daytime highs reaching 12 or 13C for the Midlands and south, although a little cooler in the north.
