Saturday
A bright start to Saturday across many western and northern areas. There will be some sunny spells and it should be dry too. Always more cloud around eastern and southern areas, but it may brighten here for a time. However, thicker cloud moving across East Anglia, southeast England and the eastern Midlands on Saturday afternoon perhaps giving an odd spot of rain. Elsewhere it should be dry with the best sunshine in Wales, southwest England, northwest England and Ireland. Highs 6 to 8C in the east, 12C in the west.

Saturday night
Cloud and rain affecting the north of Scotland overnight. The most persistent of the rain in Highland. Cloud in southeast England too, bringing a few spots of drizzle or some light rain here. Further west cloud is going to be more broken with clear skies. Mist and fog patches forming by the morning in northern England, Wales and Ireland. Lows near 0 to 4C.

Sunday
A ridge of high pressure holds on through England and Wales on Sunday. There may be a fair amount of mist and murk around at first, together with some fog patches. East Anglia and southeast England are going to be cloudier with some drizzle or light rain here at times, although this fading. Across Scotland it will be cloudier with some rain here, most in the north and west. Drier in southern Scotland. Other areas are then drier and brighter with some good spells of sunshine, the best in the west. Highs at 9 to 11C.

Monday
A northwesterly flow developing through Tuesday as a cold front clears the south in the morning, taking rain with it. brighter skies follow, but also an increasing risk of showers. These becoming more frequent during the afternoon and mostly affecting northern and western areas. They could turn wintry over the highest ground. Feeling cold with tops at 7 to 9C.
