Monday
A cold front moving south brings a belt of mainly light rain to northern England, Wales and south west England this morning with central and southern parts of England getting off to a cold start but dry here with some sunshine. In the afternoon the belt of rain affects north east England, The Midlands, Wales and the West Country. To the north behind the front it's turning colder with a number of showers for western Scotland and Northern Ireland. The showers turn wintry over the Highlands. Expect maximum temperatures of 8 to 12 Celsius north to south.

Monday night
This evening outbreaks of rain may pep up a bit as it moves into East Anglia, Hampshire and the south east. This rain will clear overnight but tends to linger across Kent. Plenty of showers, some heavy are going to affect western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere it's a dry evening and night with a risk of a frost away from the south east. Expect lows of 0 to 3 Celsius.

Tuesday
Brisk north west winds will be developing across western Britain through the day and all parts will feel cooler. Lots of dry, bright weather with sunny spells to start the day but soon cloud and showers will be developing and these will become increasingly heavy and more frequent in the afternoon mixed with hail. As the showers fade this evening, skies will tend to clear overnight with a frost across northern and eastern areas as the west stays too windy. Expect top temperatures of to 7 to 10 Celsius.

Wednesday
Lots of sunshine to come across the country today with some cloud building in the afternoon across Wales, The Midlands and the south with just a few isolated, light showers possible. Most places though will be dry. Some rain edges into Northern Ireland later in the afternoon as the winds freshen from the south across western Britain. Outbreaks of rain spread into western areas in the evening then into central parts with snow over the Highlands for a time. Expect top temperatures of 7 to 9 Celsius.
