Good sunny spells Cloudier southeast seiten=4 abk=focus
Wednesday
A chilly start to the morning with a frost for some. Thicker cloud over East Anglia and southeast England, perhaps with an odd shower. Drier elsewhere with good spells of sunshine and dry too. It should be staying dry for most into this afternoon with further spells of sunshine. However, East Anglia and the far southeast always tending to be on the colder side. Thicker cloud passing eastwards through Ireland, making the sunshine hazy in the far west of the UK later and bringing rain into western Ireland. Highs near 7 to 11C.
Wednesday night
A wet evening over Ireland with the rain being persistent here. A drier start to the night for the UK, but rain arriving in the west by midnight. This then edging eastwards during the early hours, tending to turn more showery as the rain arrives in the east. Snow may fall over the high ground of the Pennines and Scotland. Drier weather following through Ireland, western Wales and the far southwest of England by morning. Lows at 2C in the east at first, nearer 5C in the cloudier west.
Thursday
An area of low pressure over Scotland on Thursday, slipping east through the day. An occluded front surrounding the low brings cloud and rain into Scotland and some showery rain over central, northern and eastern England at first. This then edges eastwards through the day. Ireland, Wales, western and southern England should be turning drier with sunny spells developing. Staying cold through Scotland and northern England where it will be windy too. Snow falling over Scottish hills and the highest parts of the Lake District. Rain should clear eastern Scotland later in the afternoon. Highs near 5 to 11C.
Friday
Low pressure in the North Sea on Friday morning, with a further area of low pressure passing into Ireland. After a dry start to the day, rain will be passing through Ireland in the morning, and then across Wales and southern England in the afternoon. Some cloud and rain across northern and western Scotland, but mostly dry in northern England and the east and south of Scotland. Highs near 6 to 12C.
