Tuesday
A damp and cloudy morning across much of southern England, Wales and Ireland. There will be outbreaks of drizzle and light rain, with mist and murk on western and southern coasts. Gradually brightening up here through the day, and despite lighter winds in more central areas for a time this morning, it will stay windy in the south. Drier in Northern Ireland and much of northern England, some sunny spells in the northeast. A few spots of rain through northwest England. Rain in Scotland, especially in northern and western areas, most light but some moderate spells in the west. Drier for more southern and eastern parts of Scotland, a few sunny spells here and breezy too. Tops at 18C in any sunny spells in central England, a cold 7C in central Scotland.
Tuesday night
A fair amount of cloud in most areas overnight. There will be a few spots of rain on western coasts and hills at first, but these tending to fade away as the night progresses. For most the night will be dry throughout. Lows at 5 to 11C.
Wednesday
Pressure tending to build to the south of the country through Wednesday, with lower pressure to the north. There is likely to be a fair amount of cloud through Wednesday morning, some showers affecting the hills of northwest England and Ireland. Drier in the east and south with cloud breaking further through the day and sunny spells developing. Highs near 12C in northern Scotland, 19C in the sunshine in southeast England.
Thursday
High pressure becomes centred to the east of the country through Thursday. This brings a warm and fair day. There will be plenty of sunshine around, although an odd afternoon shower may be triggered in Scotland. Sea breezes forming on the coasts. Highs near 23C in southeast England, 15C in northern Scotland.
