Wednesday
Broken cloud through today. There will be some sunny spells for most, these lasting for much of the day. It will be dry overall, although some showers could affect the high ground of Scotland, and perhaps an odd one over the Lake District too. Little change is expected into the afternoon, the winds remaining light. Temperatures rising to 20C in the sunshine over southeast England, 12C in northern Scotland.

Wednesday night
A dry and quiet night to come over most of the UK and Ireland. There is a low chance of a very light shower in the Highlands and northwest England. Clear spells for most, and a few mist patches forming by the morning. A chilly night, lows at 0C in central Scotland, 3 to 5C in most other areas.

Thursday
High pressure is expected to be centred to the east of the country on Thursday. This is going to be bringing a fair day with sunny spells for most. Feeling much warmer than recently too. There will be a few showers developing in southwest Scotland and perhaps one or two in Northern Ireland, but overall it will be dry. Thicker cloud and more persistent rain affecting western Ireland. Highs near 23C in southeast England, 15C in northern Scotland.

Friday
Low pressure to the west of Scotland on Friday. An area of thundery rain associated with another small area of low pressure passing through the Channel is expected to be affecting southern, central and eastern areas of England, passing northeast through the day. Local downpours are likely. Turning cooler and brighter to the west. Rain affecting western Scotland, although brighter with a few showers in Ireland. Highs near 14C in western Scotland, but a hot 28C in the far southeast of England.
