A warm day ahead with good spells of sunshine through England and Wales. Some sea breezes developing into this afternoon. Cloudier skies over Scotland and Ireland. Rain in the far west of Ireland, this edging slowly eastwards and becoming more persistent in Ireland as the day progresses. An increasing risk of some spots of rain in western Scotland later this afternoon. Highs near 12 to 24C.
Thursday night
A dry start to tonight for much of England and Wales. However, through the early hours of the morning some thundery outbreaks of rain will be reaching southern coasts of England. Cloudier and wet in Ireland with rain heavy at times in the west. Patchy rain in western Scotland, but for most it will be cloudy and dry. Lows near 14C in southern England, 7C Scotland and Ireland as well as northern England and Wales.
Friday
An area of low pressure to the northwest of Ireland on Friday. Rain through Scotland and in Northern Ireland at first, but this should be easing during the day. Cloudier skies in England and Wales. A few spots of rain in northern and western England and Wales, but tending to brighten up here as the day progresses. An area of thundery rain may affect southern and eastern parts of England, and rather murky here as well, that rain potentially lasting into the afternoon and evening here. Highs near a very warm 29C in the far southeast, but much cooler in the west at 15C in Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
Saturday
The area of low pressure drifts to the northwest of Scotland on Saturday. This is going to bring a breezy day with a risk of gales in western Scotland and Northern Ireland. There will be showers here, some of them heavy with only limited sunshine. Better in eastern Scotland with only scattered showers. The showers affecting northwest England and western Ireland as well as the hills of north and west Wales. Much of the rest of England and Wales will be dry with sunny spells, although staying breezy. Highs at a fresher 12 to 21C.
