Thursday
High pressure brings a dry and bright day for central and south-eastern England. Hazy sunshine through high level cloud. Temperatures reaching 20 to 23C and feeling humid. Light winds and coastal sea breezes. Cooler with more cloud in western regions, and areas of very low cloud or sea fog will affect some Irish Sea coasts. Patchy drizzle for north Wales and north-west England, may become persistent by afternoon. A little rain for Scotland and Northern Ireland, mostly light and drizzly, but becoming increasingly widespread across Highland Scotland later. For southern Ireland it will be mainly dry but cloudy, a southerly breeze freshening and rain arriving in the west by late evening.

Thursday night
Dry for most of England and Wales overnight, with variable cloud. Drizzly rain arriving in the west later. Patchy rain will affect Scotland and Ireland overnight, mostly light, but may persist for several hours. Misty around some western coasts. Breezy in the north and west of the British Isles, light winds elsewhere. Mild, with overnight lows typically 9 to 13C.

Friday
Fronts moving north-eastwards across Britain and Ireland will produce outbreaks of rain and drizzle. A moderate south to south-westerly breeze. Murky conditions around many north-western coasts and hills. Risk of a few thundery bursts of rain tracking across Wales, the Midlands and northern England by the afternoon. Southern England stays mainly dry, with a little patchy rain possible by afternoon. Becoming brighter for Ireland. 15 to 18C where rain and cloud lingers, but highs reaching 21 to 25C in the south and east, where it will feel humid.

Saturday
A weak ridge of high pressure across the country brings a dry day for many. Broken cloud and sunny spells. Risk of a few showers, mainly in the east of England. A westerly breeze will ease across Britain, whilst a southerly breeze will increase later for Ireland. Fronts approaching from the west bring thickening cloud and patchy rain for Ireland and western Britain late in the day. Daytime highs 17 to 23C, warmest in the south-east.
