Friday
Showery outbreaks of rain affecting much of western Scotland, northwest England and also the west of Wales and southwest England. Patchy rain in eastern Scotland too. Much of the rest of England and Wales will be dry with sunny spells, the best of them in the east. Drier and brighter weather already into Ireland. The front then passes east through the afternoon bringing a few spots of showery rain, very little by the time it reaches southeast England. Most rain again affecting eastern Scotland. The brighter and fresher weather reaching Wales, western England and western Scotland as well as Wales with good spells of sunshine coming through. Warm in the east and south with tops of 27C in southeast England, 17C in western Scotland.
Friday night
Patchy rain in eastern England and Scotland at first, but this then clearing quickly into the North Sea. Drier weather with clearer skies elsewhere, although one or two showers on western coasts and hills. A fresher night, lows near 6 to 10C.
Saturday
A ridge of high pressure building through the UK and Ireland on Saturday. It is likely to be a dry start to the day for most with sunny spells. However, a scattering of showers in Scotland and northern England, these generally light. Staying mostly dry through this afternoon with more spells of sunshine, the showers tending to fade away, although always a risk of one or two in northern and eastern parts of the country. Thicker cloud, increasing cloud and some rain reaching western Ireland by evening. Top temperatures at 24C in southeast England, 17C in northern Scotland.
Sunday
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Sunday with a ridge of high pressure to the south. Fronts will be passing eastwards bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain to most areas, with the heaviest of any rain to the west. It is likely that any rain in central and southern England will be light, and some southern counties may stay dry throughout. Brighter weather with scattered showers following to western Scotland and Ireland. Temperatures at 23C in southeast England, more generally 15 to 20C elsewhere.
