Wednesday
A area of high pressure will be affecting all parts of the country today. There will be some morning mist in more rural areas, but this will lift quickly to leave dry weather and sunny spells for most. Cloud may increase in the far northwest of Scotland in the afternoon perhaps ringing an odd shower here. A further area of thicker cloud in the far south of England in the afternoon too with the chance of a few thundery showers reaching southern coasts later. Winds increasing the the far south later too. Highs near 17C in northern Scotland, 24C in central England.

Wednesday night
Increasingly cloudy overnight across the southern half of the UK and Ireland. The threat of some bits of rain in the far south too. Clearer skies across Northern Ireland and northern England as well as much of Scotland. Chilly under those clearer skies with lows at 5 to 9C in the clearer areas, a muggy 16C in southern England.

Thursday
An area of low pressure drifts into southern England on Thursday. High pressure will be centred to the east. Outbreaks of thundery rain are expected to move northwards across southern Ireland, Wales and the south of England. Drier and brighter for northern England and Northern Ireland as well as Scotland with sunny spells here. The area of thundery rain continues to move north during the day, although there is much uncertainty in how far north the rain reaches. Highs near a muggy 24C in southern areas, 17C in northern Scotland.

Friday
A unsettled and cold day with low pressure dominating the weather across the UK and Ireland. The low will be over eastern England with a front surrounding the low bringing cloud and rain to many. The rain is likely to be heavy in places, probably heaviest in Scotland, western England and Wales. Drier weather is likely for Ireland with some bright or sunny spells here. Highs at a cool 11 to 15C for most, 19C over parts of East Anglia.
