Heavy rain in east Dry for most seiten=4 abk=focus

Tuesday
A wet start to the day over eastern Scotland and eastern England this morning. This rain is going to be heavy at times across the coasts of Northumberland and the far east and north of Scotland. With this lasting for much of the day there is a risk of some localised flooding in the far east of Scotland. Drier weather elsewhere across the UK and Ireland. Breaks i the cloud will allow some sunny spells to come through and these affecting eastern Ireland too. Just a low risk of a shower over northeastern Wales. Highs near 15 to 22C.

Tuesday night
The rain fading through this evening over northeastern Scotland, probably still affecting Orkney and Shetland by the morning, although by then it will be much lighter. A further area of rain encroaching east into Ireland, turning more persistent as the night progresses, especially in the west. For all other areas the night will be dry with some clearer spells. Lows near 5 to 10C.

Wednesday
Low pressure to the northwest of Ireland on Wednesday. Fronts will be passing east bringing cloud and rain into Ireland, this then spreading to Wales through the morning. The rain could become heavy in the afternoon as it lies from western Scotland, through Wales, southwest England, the western Midlands and Ireland. To the east high pressure will be keeping things dry with some spells of sunshine, although gradually clouding over. Highs at 15C in the rain over western areas, a much warmer 25C in the sunshine in eastern England.

Thursday
Low pressure remains west of Ireland on Thursday. A weak front extends south through northern England to southwest England. This brings outbreaks of rain and cloud into northern England, Wales, the Midlands and southwest England. Damp in the Midlands and southern England too with some spots of rain here but staying mostly dry in the far southeast. Brighter to the north and west, but always a fair amount of cloud here with only brief sunny spells, a few showers too. Tops near 16 to 20C for most, but up to a warm 25C in East Anglia and southeast England.
