Hot with hazy sunshine in central & south-east England. A slow moving front gives persistent rain for western regions of England & Wales, spreading north-east into southern Scotland. Risk of thunderstorms developing later for central-southern areas. The north & west of Scotland likely dry until late. Showers developing for Ireland. Highs 27 to 30C in Midlands, south & east; nearer 18 to 22C north & west.
Saturday night
Outbreaks of rain for northern Britain, whilst further pulses of heavy, and possibly thundery rain are expected for western & central areas of England & Wales. Most likely dry in Eastern England, but feeling muggy, with overnight temperatures 17 to 19C. Mist and fog around coastal areas in the south. A freshening south-easterly breeze on the east coast. Lows 12 to 15C in north & west.
Sunday
A complex frontal system pivots north. Rain is likely to be heaviest in the west & south-west, slowly advancing north into the Midlands. Pulses of heavy rain too for Ireland & western Scotland. However, eastern Scotland & north-east England may stay dry for many hours, with some hazy sun. Strong easterly winds on North Sea coasts. Highs up to 25C in the east, but nearer 16C where rain persists.
Monday
Low pressure influences the British Isles, and brings an unsettled day for most areas. Several hours of heavy rain are expected across southern Britain, spreading slowly north-eastwards, although some uncertainty about the extent of this rain. Another weakening band of rain is likely to push north across Scotland, heaviest toward the east. Gusty winds for some areas. Temperatures between 17 and 22C.
