Rain in the far southeast of England this morning, some heavy bursts too. The rain eventually clearing by early afternoon. Showers or longer spells of rain in Scotland, most of it in the northwest. Elsewhere a breezy and fresh day with sunny spells. Showers affecting Ireland , these spreading to western parts of England and Wales through the late morning and afternoon. Many parts of central and eastern England staying dry. Highs at 15 to 22C.
Wednesday night
Scattered showers continues on western coasts and hills. The showers merge to longer periods of rain and may be heavy in western Scotland. More eastern areas will be dry with broken cloud and clear skies. Lows near 9 to 14C.
Thursday
Low pressure dominates through Thursday. The main area is northwest of Scotland and will bring a day of sunshine and showers to most of Scotland and Ireland. Scattered showers in western Wales and northwest England but dry in northeast England with some sunny spells here. A second area of low pressure passing through northern France during the day pushing rain, heavy at times into southern and southeast England. Highs around 14 to 23C.
Friday
Low pressure remains to the northwest of Spain with high pressure over southern parts of the country. Showers turning heavy and thundery in Ireland, western Scotland and western Wales. Fair in southern and eastern England with sunny spells here, just a few showers affecting eastern England. Tops near 15 to 23C.
