Wednesday
Some morning mist and fog patches across the northern Midlands and northern England as well as much of central and southern Scotland. This will be clearing steadily to leave sunny spells and dry conditions. For most other areas it stays dry with sunny spells and broken cloud, the best of the sunshine in the west. A breezy day in southern England with that wind strong on southern coasts. Highs near 16 to 20C.

Wednesday night
Dry overnight with some lengthy clear skies at first. Mist and fog patches forming in parts of northern England and southern Scotland. Some low cloud affecting eastern and southern areas, with a strong easterly breeze across the far south of England. Lows near 3 to 8C.

Thursday
A large area of high pressure centred over the country on Thursday. Morning mist and fog patches across northern England and Scotland at first, although these clearing steadily. Bright with sunny spells and dry weather for most, the best of the sunshine always towards the west, with a chance of some lower cloud at times in the east, although this breaking quickly. Remaining breezy in the south of England and Wales. Highs at 16 to 20C.

Friday
The area of high pressure remains over the UK and Ireland on Friday. The winds in the south will be easing. Morning mist and fog patches may be widespread, these lifting slowly during the morning. Most areas dry with sunny spells, although cloud may affect the far north of Scotland giving the threat of some drizzle here. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland, 19C in southern England.
