Grey and damp Some heavy bursts in south seiten=4 abk=focus

Wednesday
Another dull and murky day, with little if any sunshine overall. Extensive low cloud and hill fog. Weak fronts moving up from the south produce intermittent drizzly rain for most areas. Locally heavy bursts likely for the south & south-east of England, moving into East Anglia. Also some persistent rain in southern Scotland in the morning. Mostly light winds, but locally gusty near south-eastern coasts. Temperatures 11 to 14C.

Wednesday night
Staying murky overnight. Low cloud and hill fog remaining widespread. Drizzly rain and damp conditions for many areas, but rarely any substantial rain across Britain. Toward dawn, fronts moving into western Ireland will see persistent rain develop. Winds mostly light, but freshening southerlies in the west. Temperatures staying mild, lows 7 to 10C.

Thursday
Fronts spreading from the Atlantic bring rain to Ireland and western Britain, becoming persistent over many hours, particularly hills of Wales, Cumbria, also Dumfries & Galloway. The north & east of Scotland should stay largely dry. A bright start for eastern England, before clouds thicken. Patchy rain develops across the Midlands & south by afternoon. Small amounts reaching the east toward dark. Mild overall, highs 12 to 15C.

Friday
Low pressure passes to the north-west, bringing wet and windy conditions to Northern Ireland & western Scotland. A blustery day across northern Britain, and breezy too in the south. Another frontal system moves across the English Channel, bringing the risk of persistent rain for southern England. However, the Midlands, plus east & north-eastern regions stay drier and brighter. Highs 12 to 15C, locally 17C in the east.
