A fair start to Thursday morning across much of England and Wales as well as eastern Scotland. Thickening cloud and increasing winds across Ireland and western Scotland will be bringing rain here. The rain will be turning more persistent into the afternoon with the wind is increasing to severe gale force. Stain generally dry across much of England and Wales with further spells of sunshine. Wins could cost in excess of 70 mph across western Scotland and Ireland, with other parts of England and Wales seeing strong to gale force winds by the end of the day. Thursday night
A windy night as a cold front passage East Woods through the country taking a band of cloud and rain with it. The rain reaching East Anglia and save Easting then through the early hours of the morning, by which time showers and some clearest skies will be following to the west. The heaviest of the showers across northern and western Scotland as well as northwest England, Wales and Ireland. Showers turning increasingly wintry over the high ground of Scotland. Low-pressure will be north of Scotland on Friday, with westerly wins bringing a much cooler day. There will be a mix of sunshine and showers foremost, with the best of any sunshine in eastern and southern areas. More northern and western parts see the showers merging two longer spells of rain at times and also bringing hail, sleet, and funder with the risk of some snow over the high ground of Scotland. Top temperatures at 6°C in northern Scotland, nearer 11C in southern England.

Low-pressure is again the story of the day for Saturday. It will Cross Island and then northern England through the day bringing cloud, wind and rain. The rain could be heavy at times and most parts of the country will have a wet afternoon. Gales are likely across much of England, Wales and Ireland. Staying cold in northern and central Scotland with some bright spells here but also showers, these wintry on hills. High temperatures around 6°C in northern Scotland to 14°C in southern England.
