Tuesday
A fair start to the morning across much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland with some sunny spells. Thicker cloud and rain passing into Ireland will spread eastwards to reach Wales by lunchtime. Winds will be increasing to gale force in these areas. The rain then spreads east through the afternoon becoming heavy at times and affecting most of Ireland, Wales, England and southern Scotland. A swathe of severe gale force winds also passing eastwards in the afternoon with gusts of 70 mph on coasts and 60 mph in land. A further area of showery rain affecting northern Scotland with some heavy showers in the west at first. These should fade away during the day with some sunny spells developing. Temperatures reaching a cool 8 to 10°C in Scotland, nearer 12 to 15°C in England.

Tuesday night
Severe gales to start the night through much of England, Wales and Ireland with a band of rain, some of it heavy passing eastwards. Turning drier during the second half of the night with the wind is gradually easing although still some severe gales on eastern coasts. Lowes near 4 to 8°C.

Wednesday
An area of low pressure will be passing close to western Scotland on Wednesday, pushing rain eastwards am bringing a wet morning too much of Ireland. The rain then into Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales during the afternoon, this also affecting Southwest England. More central and eastern areas starting the day dry but then cloud, wind and some outbreaks of rain arriving in the afternoon. Probably staying mostly dry in eastern and southern England. Becoming increasingly windy once again with widespread gales. High near 7°C in northern Scotland and 14°C in southern England.

Thursday
Low pressure dominates throughout Thursday. Indications are that it will be a wet day with fronts over much the UK and Ireland throughout. Rain could be heavy at times especially across Wales, England and Ireland. The rain tending to be more showery across Scotland and some of the showers could be heavy at times. Snow is increasingly likely over the Scottish hills. Becoming colder in Scotland with tops of 5°C in the north, near a 14°C in southern England.
