Monday
A cold day across Scotland with strong easterly winds developing. Windy as well across England and Wales. Heavy and persistent rain is expected across eastern parts of Scotland with snow over the Highlands. For much of the United Kingdom expect a good deal of cloud and lots of showers. These are likely to be heaviest across south west Wales, parts of south west England and perhaps Kent. Showers across northern England will be fewer and lighter. Best of the sunshine may be in the south in the morning. Mild in the south today. Highs of 6 to 11 Celsius north to south.
Monday night
It continues quite windy this evening and tonight across Scotland. Outbreaks of rain linger across eastern parts of Scotland but not as heavy. The rain will fall as snow on higher ground. For Northern Ireland, Wales and England a number of showers will be spiralling up from the south. Some areas may escape with a dry evening and night as the showers may be localised. Expect minimums of 3 to 7 Celsius.
Tuesday
It continues mild towards the south but cold in the north. Rain is forecast across northern England, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland with snow across the north, perhaps reaching to lower levels. A number of heavy showers to affect eastern, western and southern coasts of England and coastal Wales. Central parts of England may have a dry day. Another pulse of heavy rain is expected to move into Scotland from the east tonight. Scattered showers also persist around the coasts of England and Wales - dry but rather cloudy inland. Expect top temperatures of 5 to 11 Celsius.
Wednesday
Colder in most areas today. More rain in store for northern and eastern Scotland as well as the North Sea coasts of England. Most central and western areas should be fair and dry with lots of cloud and a few sunnier spells. Late in the afternoon rain moves in across Cornwall and western parts of Northern Ireland. This evening widespread, heavy rain spills in across western parts of Britain which moves into all areas in the night with snow over the hills of northern Scotland and Northern Ireland. Expect top temperatures of 5 to 9 Celsius.
