Any early residual snow soon clears the far south east. Scotland, northern and eastern parts of England start very cold and frosty with clear skies overnight. Sunny here in the morning and into the afternoon. A few freezing fog patches across the north east may be very slow to clear. Elsewhere it's a cloudy day with rain into south west England and south west Wales this afternoon, this may give a covering of snow to the Brecons. A few wintry showers to come for western parts of Scotland and north west England. Highs of -1 to 6 Celsius.
Sunday night
Little change then into the evening with rain across the south west and southern Wales and also across Northern Ireland. Central and eastern areas stay dry. Overnight it's cloudy across western parts of Britain with rain but snow over the hills. Cold and dry across the east. Rather windy across the west. Expect minimums of -1 to -4 Celsius but a milder 6 Celsius in the south west of England and Northern Ireland.
Monday
Quite a windy and cold day to come. An area of rain, preceded by snow spreads eastward slowly and erratically. East Anglia and the far south east my remain dry for most of the day. In the evening and night rain may affect southern parts of Wales and southern England with a risk of snow across north Wales and the Midlands though there is much uncertainty in the forecast at this time. Very cold and frosty to the north. Expect top temperatures of 1 to 6 Celsius.
Tuesday
An area of rain, sleet and snow across Wales and the southern half of England will gradually be clearing away to the south east during the course of the day. Across Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland it will be a cold, bright day with sunnier spells. A bitterly cold night to come with a widespread, hard frost for most places. Expect top temperatures of 1 to 6 Celsius.
