Monday
A cold, breezy and grey day to come across Britain. Misty over the hills. Some heavy rain around this morning across the south west of England. Lighter, more patchy bits of rain and drizzle to affect Wales and central southern parts of England with a band of rain also across northern Scotland with snow over the hills and at times down to low levels. Cold across central and eastern areas with icy patches in the morning. In the afternoon still some rain to come across southern Wales and the south west and across northern Scotland. Elsewhere generally dry. Highs of 1 to 5 Celsius.
Monday night
Drizzly rain affects parts of Wales and Cornwall this evening and into the night. A band of rain across northern Scotland drifts into southern Scotland tonight and becomes very light and patchy with some snow over the Southern Uplands. Frosty across eastern areas tonight. Expect minimums of -1 to -4 Celsius but a milder 5 Celsius in the south west of England and Northern Ireland.
Tuesday
It continues cold today. With easterly winds developing, a few wintry showers may affect eastern parts of Scotland and north east England. Some light rain with snow over higher ground is expected across southern Wales and The West Country. Dry for much of the country with the best of the sunshine across East Anglia and the south east. Cold with a sharp frost tonight. Apart from a few wintry showers near North Sea coasts, it's a dry night with clear spells and cloud. Expect top temperatures of 1 to 4 Celsius.
Wednesday
Much of the United Kingdom should have a dry, cold day. Some good sunny spells to come but cloudier across eastern and western coasts. Local dense fog patches will clear as a south east wind develops through the day. Through the evening and night some rain spreads in across Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland. Dry across the bulk of the country with clear spells leading to a widespread, sharp frost tonight. Expect top temperatures of 0 to 6 Celsius.
