Thursday
High pressure will be to the south-east of Britain, whilst fronts encroach into western regions. Areas of fog in eastern England may persist for many hours. Some sunshine. A freshening southerly breeze. Temperatures rising slowly to highs of 5C, or 8C in west.
Thursday night
A milder night overall, with a brisk southerly breeze across the country. Extensive cloud cover, giving hill fog in the north. Intermittent rain or drizzle affects many north & western areas. Gradually, rain turns more persistent from the west as fronts move in. A wet night for much of Ireland, and heavy rain affects western Britain by dawn. Temperatures may dip to 2C in the east, but 5C or higher in west, likely rising through the night.
Friday
Fronts spread across Britain from the Atlantic, bringing rain to most areas through the day, heaviest for western Britain early morning. A few hours of rain for the east & south-east into the afternoon, although becoming light and patchy. Brighter spells and scattered showers follow into western areas. A brisk southerly wind, strongest north & west. Cool in the east around 6C, but milder air spreads from the west, highs 8 to 11C.
Saturday
A dry and bright day for many as pressure builds again from the south. Fronts approach western areas, bringing largely cloudy skies and occasional rain to Ireland, also western coasts and hills of Britain. Some sunshine for the Midlands and south-east of England, also eastern Scotland. Breezy in the west, but winds fairly light for most. Much milder than recent days for all regions, temperatures widely 7 to 10C, possible 12C in south-west.
