A grey, dull day and strong winds in the south west tend to develop across much of Britain away from Scotland. Milder conditions will be setting in during the course of the day. A disorganised area of rain will affect much of the United Kingdom, this quite light across southern and eastern parts of England. Some heavier bursts to affect parts of Wales, Northern Ireland and western Scotland late in the afternoon with some snow over the hills of Scotland. Highs of 3 to 5 Celsius across Scotland and some parts of north east England and 8 to 13 Celsius across the rest of England and Wales.

Sunday night
Quite a windy but mild night to come with gales affecting Wales, northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland with gusts over 60 mph over the northern hills. A spell of heavy rain to affect north west England and Scotland. That rain lingers across north west Scotland tonight Elsewhere it stays cloudy and misty with patches of drizzly rain, mainly in the west. Expect minimums of 6 to 10 Celsius.

Monday
Very windy with gusts to 70 mph across Scotland. It continues cloudy and mild across much of the country with sporadic outbreaks of patchy, light rain and drizzle. In the afternoon some snow may develop over the hills of northern England as it becomes colder. We keep a good deal of cloud across Britain tonight with occasional rain and with snow over the Highlands. Strong gales will affect northern Britain with gusts of 75 mph expected over the hills of Scotland. Expect top temperatures of 7 to 13 Celsius.

Tuesday
A colder day to come especially feeling it in strong westerly winds. More in the way of sunshine is expected today across central and eastern parts of England and east of the Welsh Mountains. A number of showers to affect western and northern areas, these of snow over the hills of Scotland and Snowdonia. It remains windy into the evening and night with those showers persisting. Expect top temperatures of 6 to 9 Celsius.
