Wednesday
A fine and frosty start to the morning across England and Wales as well as much of Ireland. Thicker cloud slips south into Scotland and Northern Ireland bringing some sleet and snow showers here. The band of sleet and snow showers then moves into northern England, central Ireland and north Wales in the afternoon. Wintry showers continue in Scotland. Staying dry further south with the sunshine continuing throughout the afternoon. Highs at 3 to 7C.
Wednesday Night
Chilly again through tonight as a band of cloud and a scattering of snow showers edge through Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia. This eventually reaches southern England by morning, although as nothing more than a few snow flurries. Clearer skies follow with frost becoming widespread as temperatures fall. Lows at 1 to -4C.
Thursday
A ridge of high pressure builds through the country on Thursday. This brings lots of fine weather with it, but some morning mist and fog patches too. A widespread frost at first on Thursday morning, but this lifting to leave plenty of dry weather and good spells of sunshine. eastern coasts of Scotland and England may well see a few wintry showers too. Highs at 3 to 6C.
Friday
High pressure is expected east of the UK through Friday. This brings another cold day through all places. Some reasonable spells of sunshine once morning fog has cleared. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain in Ireland and western Scotland as well as the far southwest of England. Highs at 4 to 7C.
