Dry and cool Cold winds south seiten=4 abk=focus
Saturday
Feeling chilly in a brisk easterly wind across central, southern & eastern Britain - strongest winds around the south coast, associated with low pressure over France. It will be dry overall, but a few wintry showers may drift onto eastern coasts. Fairly cloudy, but some sunshine, best in west. Weak fronts bring some rain at first to western Ireland. Light winds for Scotland & northern England. A frosty morning in the north. Daytime highs 5 to 7C.
Saturday night
Pressure builds from the north, and winds will fall light for many - although remaining brisk in the far south-east. Dry for most, small risk of a residual snow flurry in the east. Clouds should thin and break, allowing temperatures to fall under clear skies. Close to freezing many, lows -2C in rural parts of the Midlands & Wales, or -4C in northern England & Scotland, but locally may fall to -10C in some Highland glens.
Sunday
High pressure will be centred across the British Isles, but maintains a brisk and chilly north-easterly wind across southern regions. Isolated wintry flurries may drift onto eastern coasts, but most places should stay dry. Fairly cloudy in the east. Best sunshine toward the west. A cold start - daytime temperature slowly rising by early afternoon to between 5 and 8C, highest west, but feeling closer to zero in the wind across the south-east.
Monday
A chilly start, frosty for many, and local fog patches in low lying central & southern regions. Fronts approach from the west, bringing a freshening south-westerly wind. Rain across Ireland will slowly spread to western Scotland, then later north-west England & west Wales, perhaps snow over the hills for a time. The Midlands, south & east are likely to stay dry all day, with early sun giving way to thickening cloud. Highs 5 to 8C.
