Rain is going to be heaviest in central and eastern Scotland as well as northeast Scotland. Drier in Ireland, Wales and southwest England, the best sunshine to the southwest. The afternoon sees more rain across northern and eastern areas, although turning drier in northern and eastern Scotland. A risk of local flooding in southern Scotland and northern England this evening. Drier in southern Ireland and southwest England as the rain fades in central and southern England. Highs at 22C in southern England, 24C in northeast Scotland, 14 to 16C in the cloudier areas.

Heavy rain again affecting much of southern Scotland and northwest England overnight. A few showers in northeast Scotland, drier in central parts of Scotland as well as the far northeast of England. Rain may be affecting the northern Midlands and parts of East Anglia too. Fair in Wales and southern England as well as much of Scotland with some sunny spells. Highs at 11 to 17C.
