Thundery downpours Some warm sunshine seiten=4 abk=focus
Tuesday
Low pressure will move slowly across central-southern Britain, bringing increasingly widespread heavy bursts of rain to much of England & Wales. Some prolonged downpours and thunderstorms, with a risk of localised flooding. Blustery winds around coasts in the south & south-west, may gust to gale force in exposed spots. Some heavy showers will also affect Scotland and Ireland, although more scattered here. Highs 17 to 22C.
Tuesday night
Belts of heavy rain will continue to rotate across England and Wales, with some ongoing heavy falls over several hours in places, perhaps focused on northwest England and into the Peak District, plus the north Midlands. Clusters of showers too for Scotland and Ireland, but quite hit and miss, with some drier areas. Southern England may also become drier. Gusty winds, particularly southern coasts. Lowest temperatures staying around 11 to 14C.
Wednesday
Low pressure stays in charge, spinning slowly eastwards into the North Sea. Further zones of heavy rain will continue for many hours in northern and central parts of England, whilst organised belts of thundery showers will develop widely through the day across most of northern Britain. Southern England & Wales, plus much of Ireland may well escape with just occasional showers and lengthy dry spells with some sunshine. Highs 17 to 23C.
Thursday
Pressure builds slowly, with sunny spells for many. However, a trough of low pressure remains nearby, bringing scope for some showery outbreaks through the afternoon, these quite hit and miss, but may form into a band from central-southern Scotland, along the spine of the Pennines and locally into the Midlands & eastern England. Some of these may be thundery. Largely dry with sunshine for Wales and the southwest. Highs 18 to 24C.
