Drier for central and eastern Scotland as well as eastern Ireland. Highs at a chilly 9 to 11C.

Clearer skies for most away from western and northern coasts and hills, the threat of a touch of ground frost in more sheltered areas. Staying breezy in the far north of Scotland with the threat of more showers here. Lows near 1 to 5C.

A ridge of high pressure is expected to be building on Wednesday. This should be bringing plenty of sunshine and fine conditions through the day. There could be some cloud affecting the far north and western Scotland, this broken cloud in western Ireland too. The vast majority of places should be dry, but some isolated showers will affect western coasts and hills. Breezier in the far north of Scotland. Highs near 9 to 11C.

High pressure is going to be bringing a fair day for most. However, morning mist and fog patches may be slow to clear. Once they have gone there will be sunny spells and the day should be dry. Increased winds in northern and western Scotland bringing some spots of drizzle onto the coasts here. The best of any sunshine will be in more eastern areas. Highs at a cool 9 to 11C.
