Wind and rain in North Drier south seiten=4 abk=focus

Friday
A warm front will pass eastwards through Ireland and the UK on Friday bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain. More persistent rain affecting northwest England and western Scotland, heaviest here too, mainly during the morning. Patchy rain, mainly light, in the afternoon but will tend to become drier by evening. It is going to be breezy too with winds strengthening particularly across northern Scotland and the Northern Isles. Tending to become milder through the day after a cool start. Highs at 7 to 12C.

Friday night
A cold front will sweep across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and into northern England by dawn. Drier further south. A windy night, particularly so across northern Scotland and the Northern Isles. A generally mild night but temperatures do drop more towards dawn. Minimum temps between 2 to 9C across Scotland and between 6 and 11C elsewhere.

Saturday
A chilly day in the northern half of the UK. Staying windy across northern Scotland and the Northern Isles. It will be a cloudy and wet start across much of Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and northern England but rain will soon clear to the south to allow for sunny spells to develop but also showers. Drier across southern areas to start, milder too, but rain will soon spread into Wales and central and southern England through the afternoon. Highs at 4 to 12C.

Sunday
A bright start for many but cloud will soon thicken. Largely dry too but with showers across western areas of Northern Ireland, Ireland and Scotland. Winds will ease in the north. Thicker cloud along with some patchy light rain for southern and southeastern coasts through the morning before a ridge of higher pressure builds in across southern Britain drying things up here for a time. More rain is then expected to push across Wales and southwest England as well as parts of Ireland through the evening. Highs at 6 to 11C.
