Some fair periods

Our forecast pattern appears to be a little more firm this week, and therefore confidence is higher than in previous forecasts. High pressure is expected to play a dominant role in the flow pattern during June, although conditions may well remain rather changeable early on and again for a time later in the month, so still cool for the time of year at first.

Becoming increasingly warm around mid-month, with the forecast pattern indicating that high pressure will dominate over the British isles, so at long last the weather will become settled and fine, with all areas experiencing some summer-like conditions.

High pressure is then expected to decline to the west or southwest, allowing cooler and more changeable weather to move through all areas from the northwest or west. Showers or longer spells of rain in most area and rather windy at times in the north.

The pattern at the beginning of July indicates that high pressure will once again attempt to settle the weather, becoming increasingly warm through the first week of the new month.
