Updated Monday 7th March 2005. Valid Tuesday 8th March 2005 to Wednesday 6th April 2005.
Dry in many areas. Cool to cold
Little overall change in our forecast pattern this week.
High pressure is dominating the situation once again, and will be to the west of Ireland for several more days. From time to time low pressure may track down the North Sea, giving periods of more unsettled weather to eastern counties.
We do still envisage more unsettled weather to break through on a more widespread basis around the middle of the month. This is likely to be between the 14th and 18th of March. During this time west to southwest winds are likely to prevail across the UK and Ireland, with fronts moving eastwards. It may become windy at times too.
By the end of March high pressure is likely to be building once again. We currently expect this to build east of the British Isles, and then edge westwards to be centred over the country by the beginning of April. Ireland will be the last area to recover from the more disturbed spell.
