Remaining rather cool.

With the global computer models now showing signs of variability, our current forecast pattern still shows that the United Kingdom and Ireland will continue to see generally cool to occasionally cold conditions predominating.

The run-up to the Christmas period looks likely to be settled with high pressure building to the north or northeast. By the time we get to Christmas week it may become cold with a risk of some wintry showers over eastern areas of England and Scotland with an east to southeast breeze dominating.

Into the new Year it is likely to begin cold and unsettled.
