Dry spell this week. Turning more unsettled.
It seems that the area of high pressure we were predicting for the middle of February may come a few days earlier than we though last week.
Looking further ahead, two weather scenarios seem possible. The first, and most likely we think, is that the weather will become more unsettled again fairly quickly after this weeks brief high pressure period.
However, readers should also bear in mind that another of our forecasters thinks that there is a reasonable chance of high pressure persisting in some form or another through most of February, with only a few breaks. It could last into the first week of March, before things then become more changeable. Our consensus of opinion at the moment is that this scenario is not likely, although it is worth highlighting.
We hope to have more guidance for you next week.
