Cool but mainly dry to third week of April
Indications are that high pressure will be the dominating weather feature through the British isles during the next week or so. This will generally be centred to the north of the country, with ridges building southwards over time.
To the south, through mainland Europe and the Mediterranean, low pressure will be in control of the weather. The combination of these two systems allowing east to south east winds to flow through the British Isles.
By around the third week of April we expected that low pressure will penetrate from the south, effectively splitting the high in two. This will allow the final week of the month to be more unsettled as the winds become west to south westerly.
