Changeable

The immediate outlook for the very early period of this forecast is for a spell of fine, summery weather. However, make the most of this!

By the time we get to next weekend the weather will be becoming more unsettled, and this then sets the pattern for the next stages of the forecast.

The hurricane season in the United States of America has kicked off early, and it's our belief that this will have an impact on the summer weather in the UK and Ireland.

We expect most of the remainder of July and August to be changeable and unsettled. The brunt of the weather will be felt by Scotland and western Ireland where rainfall will be around or just above normal levels.

More southern counties may briefly have some brighter, drier interludes, but even here there will be rain or showers, and it will be feeling rather cool.
