The August/September Ahead
30 Day Outlook

High pressure dominates. Few unsettled spells.

Once again we are pleased with the track record of our forecasts.

Anticyclonic conditions have again dominated the weather, and are expected to continue to influence our predicted patterns throughout the month of August.

The emphasis remains on largely dry and settled weather, although there will be a subtle change in the pressure distributions which will affect the overall temperature profile of the UK and Ireland.

The previous patterns indicated that high pressure will continue to influence the weather pattern over or close to the UK and this should remain the case. The latter stages of the middle of the month indicate that the high will move to the west or south west of the UK and Ireland, and this appears to be generally in line with current expectations.
