Dry in many areas. Cool to cold.
This week has been another mainly successful one for our forecast pattern. We have been indicating that the high pressure region would break down between the 14 and 18th March, and that is exactly what looks like happening.
An unsettled week ahead, and becoming much milder too in southwest winds. Spring may finally be here for much of central and eastern parts of the UK and Ireland. High pressure is expected to build into the south by the end of the week and through the following weekend.
Indications then are that high pressure dominates the weather situation for much of the end of March and into April as well. The high will be mainly centred over Europe, extending northwards through the United Kingdom and Ireland at times.
Plenty of dry and warm weather is forecast, although there will be periods when conditions will be cloudier and damper.
