Remaining changeable
Our forecast pressure patterns have indicated that high pressure would dominate the pattern, and this has proved to be largely the case, with an anticyclone established to the west or northwest of the United Kingdom and Ireland, with a cool north to northwest flow dominating.
In the short term there doesn’t seem to be any major change to the current situation, with much of the weather activity still coming down from the north or northwest. High pressure is maintaining an influence to the west, with most areas remaining cool.
However, as we approach the ed of May high pressure should become established over the United Kingdom and then drift to the east. It should then be warmer and more settled in all areas.
The beginning of June should see the high pressure influence continuing tyo predominate, although by the beginning of the second week a breakdown to more changeable and cooler weather across all areas will be evident.
