Unsettled overall. Risk of short-lived snow early-mid December.
This forecast is essentially unchanged from the one issued a week ago.
We do still believe that low pressure is going to be the dominating presence in the weather during the month ahead. Plenty of rain and wind can be expected, especially in the north and west.
As in previous weeks, we do believe that high pressure may build in during the early to middle part of December. As the high moves away, the weather will become more unsettled again, and milder. This milder weather may be preceded by a brief period of sleet and snow.
