The Month Ahead
30 Day Outlook

Unsettled overall, but drier in the south. Colder mid-February?

We are once again concerned by our forecast this week! The major computer models have been hinting over the past few days that a large area of high pressure will build over Scandinavia at the start of February, bringing much colder conditions to the UK and Ireland.

Our forecast pattern suggests that this will not be the case. We do still believe that the end of January and beginning of February will be dominated by changeable weather. Yes, there will be some colder periods with a risk of sleet and snow, but overall conditions will be close to normal.

By the end of the forecast period, towards mid-February, our predictions do hint at a more general build in pressure, with the weather becoming colder and drier.

We await the next week with anticipation!
