Our forecast pattern remains firm in the short to medium term, although the extended pattern is a little more uncertain.

This uncertainty is in how much the high pressure is going to be dominating the weather through the British Isles and Ireland.

High pressure is expected to control the pattern through to the middle of the forecast period, although as we move into March there are indications that high pressure, which has controlled the pattern for quite some time may decline.

Low pressure may then take centre stage for the remainder of the forecast, through the middle part of March, however, this is by no means certain at this stage.
