High pressure dominating, more unsettled by mid October
The hurricane season is now well underway on the other side of the Atlantic. As we write this forecast, there have been no major hurricanes in 2002. However, there are a couple of interesting developments existing now, and should one of these travel across the Atlantic in any significant way, we may well find the weather becoming more unsettled from the beginning of October. Please bear this in mind when reading this forecast.
This forecast is based on the theory that major storms are not currently expected close the British Isles. The overall theme is there high pressure for many southern places, but low pressure at times north west of Scotland. The weather probably turns more changeable everywhere from mid-October.
