Unsettled in August

We still expect the weather to be turning more unsettled during August.

The coming week is expected to see low pressure moving into the south of the UK, bringing periods of rain, some of it heavy at times. Scotland and Ireland should be drier for a time, but the low pressure to the south will be bringing heavy periods of rain.

This rain is going to be passing northwards, and it will be heavy at times.

Hints are that high pressure may briefly build for the first week of August, bringing a few days of fine and much warmer weather. Northern Scotland stays unsettled.

For the middle part of the month we are forecasting the weather be remaining un settled. There will be periods of rain, this affecting all areas, with most to the north and west. It may be cool at times.
