Although very changeable and unsettled conditions are likely to continue to affect many areas of the British Isles through the short term period, there are some indications that there be a trend toward drier and more settled weather through the opening days of March.
This respite is, however, only expected to be temporary, with changeable conditions soon returning to all areas. A much drier and more settled spell of weather is expected to establish itself across all areas of the British Isles during mid-month, this is expected to dominate the weather pattern through to the latter stages of March.
Rather cold at first, with temperatures slightly below the seasonal average everywhere. Recovering to closer to normal later and perhaps slightly above average across parts of southern England for a time. Cooler conditions are indicated for the end of the month, with high pressure established across the British Isles retreating to the northwest.
