High pressure dominating, a few "blips"
On balance, out forecast pattern appears to be holding, although at this stage there is still some debate as to exactly where high pressure areas will be centred.
The period should open with fine and settled weather, although during the course4 of the first week heavy and thundery rain will be edging in from the west and this may bring a more unsettled Bank Holiday weekend.
Fine weather may continue into the first week of June, although home brewed thundery activity is possible.
The high will decline during the middle of the month, probably repositioning to the south or southwest, with a weak west flow developing.
Into the later stages of June there is a threat of more general unsettled weather over many areas for a time, although pressure will build to the south or southeast.
