Our forecast pattern is in today in contrast to the forecasts produced by the various computer models at the main meteorological centres.
In the short term we are in agreement with low pressure crossing the country during this week. Then the winds become more north easterly as the low clears away, and cooler weather moves through all places.
However, after next weekend we are in disagreement. Indeed if our forecast pattern is to be believed, there is not likely to be any recovery in pressure until at least the middle of January, and perhaps the final third of the month.
Even when this does occur its influence may be limited to the east of the UK, as high pressure is expected to be centred over Scandinavia, with low pressure always trying to push weather fronts through Ireland and into the western UK.
