The Month Ahead
30 Day Outlook

High pressure still dominating.

Our pattern forecasts continue to indicate that high pressure will continue to be the main influence on the flow pattern close to, or over the UK and Ireland for much of the coming period.

High pressure will most likely be centred over, or as a ridge over southern Britain and southern Ireland. At times there is likely to be a more westerly flow, this affecting the north and west of the country.

Frontal systems will move through these northern areas from time to time, but their influence will be weakened by the proximity to the high pressure.

Only during the middle of July is there a hint of somewhat more unsettled weather, again most pronounced over the north of the UK, primarily Scotland and Northern Ireland.
