Ankara Flash floods took the lives of three people, including an eight-year-old, following severe downpours in southern Turkey, Anatolia news agency reported Monday. Several dozens of houses were flooded by the rains that have been ongoing for three days and caused serious damage to the town of Mersin, where electricity also has been cut.
Last month eastern Turkey experienced unusual weather when temperatures dropped to minus 34 degrees Celsius (minus 29 degrees Fahrenheit) - the first time on record that temperatures have fallen so sharply.
