Fog and record warmth

MOSCOW, - Three of Moscow's airports were forced to shut down as thick fog enveloped the Russian capital due to unprecedented warm weather. Some 100 flights out of the Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Bykovo airports were delayed, while incoming flights were rerouted to airports in Saint Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod, officials quoted by the Interfax news agency said. The international airport at Sheremetyevo remained operational. Moscow had been hit by a warm spell not seen in 130 years, with record high temperatures on Monday of five degrees Celsius (40 F).
