Typhoon Fengshen
Killer out there

Mid-Pacific Typhoon Fengshen is a true monster. Packing sustained winds up to 162 mph (260 kph) are making it a veritable Category 5 Typhoon on the Saffir-Simpson scale. The worst our Atmosphere got in store. It would easily cause catastrophic damage if it would landfall. Peak gusts are likely to reach up to 200 mph (320 kph). Storm surge and winds are likely to produce waves of 15m (45ft) and higher.

Luckily Fengshen is far off shore, away from any populated area at the moment. Moving slowly westward is just has passed the gap between Enewetak and Wake Island. However, warm tropical Pacific waters will keep fueling it for another couple of days - and it is still growing and thus in the end could threaten Micronesia or Japan. At the moment it is just an impressive BIG thing from a meteorologists point of view.
